Blue Anchor Public House demolition and redevelopment application
June 25, 2017 Jo0Lz

A formal planning application has been received by Wirral Council for the demolition of the existing Blue Anchor public house and subsequent construction of a mixed-use, three-storey development comprising of an A1 retail unit at ground-floor and 8 No. residential units on two floor above.

The application reference number is APP/17/00744

The contents of the application can be viewed on line by going to the planning section of the Council’s website here: https://planning.wirral.gov.uk/online-applications/

and putting the application number into the search box

Hoylake Vision will be reviewing the application against the policies of the Hoylake Neighbourhood Plan and submitting a consultation response on behalf of Hoylake Vision and the Forum.

The planning documents state: “It is expected that the retail unit will be operated as a Co-op local convenience store, open seven days a week from early morning until late evening. It will replace the existing Co-op store at The Row on Market St, 200m to the south, which is constrained and has inadequate off-street servicing and customer parking facilities. The existing store will be marketed for lease to an appropriate new tenant.”
