Join us by walking and talking about the emerging Neighbourhood Plan by viewing key sites throughout Hoylake. Bring the whole family – and the dog as well!
This Walk will be an important part of the ongoing community consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan which began in 2011 with the ‘What’s Your Vision?” survey, the results of which can be seen online on this website and at the HELP shop, Market Street, Hoylake. Help us by taking part in shaping Hoylake for the next ten years and owning the town’s future!
We will look at how Hoylake has matured so far and how it might develop in future, as well as what it means to have a Neighbourhood Plan in place. Not everybody agrees on how Hoylake should develop but here is an enjoyable and direct way for you to have your say and find out what others think.
Transport will be provided for those with walking difficulties.
The route:
Starts 10 am opposite Hoylake Community Centre, North Parade, Hoylake
Here we will have a conversation about the Beach and Promenade: history, management and development opportunities. How best can we improve this major feature?
11am Via Trinity Road, Back Sea View, Grove Place, Alderley Road, Valentia Road, Kings Gap, to Market Street
On the walk, we will look at residential areas, public places such as Trinity Road churchyard and Grove Park, the range and quality of housing. In Market Street, we will talk about its appearance, day time and night time economy, access and parking and housing/business mix
12 noon A pause for refreshments at Vanilla Lounge (buy your own!)
1.30 The Quadrant & Railway Crossing
Here there will be a chance to talk about proposed improvements to Station Approach and access to Carr Lane across the railway line
2pm Carr Lane Industrial Estate
Not been there? Now’s your chance to see the range of small businesses and talk about the future of the residential and industrial areas as well as the proposed Golf resor.
