We need to be mindful of NOT putting businesses off making a start on our shopping street
Anything that has a potential financial impact on a new to business starting up is likely to be counter productive
Businesses seem to start up in Hoylake because of lower rents and lower rates
If a shopfront design guide dictates too strongly it will put businesses off
Most Shopfront Design Guides I know of are for Conservation Areas where existing historic shopfronts exist and are being protected
This is not the case on our shopping street
An interesting challenge to ‘sell’ this one at a public meeting
Shall be interesting to see how locals feel about the issue
