Reply To: OLD LIFEBOAT STATION

3 people turned up to complain about the LifeBoat Station proposal recently submitted to planning

1 was Ann Davies, who lives in Government Road, and who I know through the cinema and christmas lights

Their main concern was parking provision.
i.e. the lack of any.. and so the likelihood that this stops them parking where they want/need to on the street outside their own homes

I did point out to Ann that for the dwelling this was not a valid reason for refusal as parking standards are a maximum, not a minimum
I also pointed out that the majority of existing housing in Hoylake lacks off-road parking provision so it could not be cited as necessity for development approval of a new dwelling

I emailed her this morning confirming the application ref number, where it can be seen on-line, and offering advice about the process of lodging public consultation comments.
She will be writing in herself and share the information with the elderly couple who also turned up who want to object, particular about roof access and overlooking the adjacent existing flats [??]

I’ve double checked and if anything it is the other way round
The adjacent flats will overlook [look down on] the newly formed roof terrace at the rear of the Lifeboat Station
